Unsettled west with rain and showers, brighter and drier in east

Wednesday
Scattered showers or thunderstorms through the north of Spain and Portugal although remaining mostly dry and warm elsewhere across Iberia. Some persistent heavy rain through western and southwestern France and northern Italy with the risk of flash flooding as rainfall totals will likely build very quickly. Across SE Europe a mostly dry day is expected on Wednesday, with a few afternoon showers possible across the Adriatic coast of Croatia and Albania.
Showers or thunderstorms across western parts Austria and much of Switzerland. Showers expected later in the day as a trough moves northwards through France and the Low Countries, with thunderstorms possible into the early evening ,affecting western Germany too. Mostly dry and fine across eastern Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, and a largely sunny day across Poland. Mostly sunny across eastern Germany.
A largely dry day across Norway as high pressure remains in control across much of Scandinavia. As a result, fair weather too for Sweden, Finland and Denmark. A pleasant day across the Baltic States with fair weather expected.

Thursday
Fewer showers than Wednesday across Portugal and Spain, with lengthier sunnier spells expected in the warm sunshine of late spring. Further showers or thunderstorms across southern France and northern Italy, merging to form longer spells of rain. A more showery day across SE Europe, with thunderstorms possible just about anywhere during the afternoon, although most of Greece should stay largely dry.
Low pressure over Austria, Switzerland and northern France continues to generate showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon, with scattered thundery showers possible for the Low Countries. A few afternoon showers across the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.
A largely dry day across Norway with much of the rest of Scandinavia dry as high pressure remains firmly in control. Largely dry and fair across the Baltic countries.
